Wilson Butler Architects Wins FIVE Canstruction Boston 2021 Awards

November 05, 2021

More than 2,875 cans of food and an additional $5,576.00 (16,728 meals) were raised for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.

WBA’s fifth  year participating in Canstruction Boston was another huge success. Our  2,875-can structure, “The Show Will Go On”, based on our virtual submission from 2020, was honored with five awards:

  • Best Use of Labels
  • Most Cans Award
  • People’s Choice Award
  • Social Media Soup-er Star
  • Fundraising Soup-er Star

“The Show Will Go On,” is a celebration of the entertainment spaces we are excited to return to very soon. This theater stage distills classic theatrical elements through cans of healthy food: the articulated proscenium surround in shades of tan and gold, the classic white lights, the black stagehouse walls, and a classic red flowing curtain. The stage is set and lit up for the return of theatrical or musical productions now that performance spaces are opening up again! The stage is flanked on each side with iconic Playbill covers of Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Wicked, and Hairspray honoring the long history of the theater. The back of the structure is the stage door, welcoming the performers with a message celebrating that theater is back!

Thank you everyone who has donated to our efforts, a huge thank you to our wonderful Canstruction Team who made all this possible, and a special shout-out to our partner Nitsch Engineering! With your help we were able to not only donate the 2,875 cans used to create our structure, but also an additional $5,576.00 (16,728 meals), just in time for the holiday season.
