Wilson Butler Architects led the way in this dramatic refurbishment of 90 year old, 279 seat, Liberty Hall, home to the award-winning Merrimack Repertory Theatre. This was achieved by integrating significant acoustic upgrades and thrusting this small community theatre into the 21st century with a major face lift encompassing the theatre, lobby, concessions and box office. Originally opened in 1922, and like many old buildings that have been re-purposed for theater, the Hall was in great need for upgrades and modernizations to continue to cultivate the company’s current patronage while attracting new audiences.
PERFORMANCE

The historic Liberty Hall project consists of a theatre of approximately 300 seats within the Lowell Auditorium building. It is the resident theatre to the award winning Merrimack Repertory Theatre Company and needed significant acoustic upgrades to bring the theater to the modern age. As part of the renovations, back of house amenities for performers, artists and stage crew were upgraded along with theater seating.
